St. Anne's Church in Nierodzim

Built in the 17th century, it stands out with a unique wooden structure and rich interior decorations. The building is a valuable cultural monument of the region and an example of the masterful craftsmanship of former builders.

The Church of St. Anna in Ustroń Nierodzimiu was erected in 1637. It replaced an earlier medieval temple that was destroyed. The new church was built in the typical wooden sacred architecture style of the region.

The interior of the Church of St. Anna impresses with rich ornamentation and decorations. Among others, you can admire a beautiful Baroque main altar, a pulpit adorned with sculptures, and valuable 18th-century polychromes on the ceiling and walls. The pulpit, baptismal font, and pews also feature rich woodcarving decoration, and the ceiling and walls are covered with beautiful figurative and floral paintings. The whole creates an extraordinary, harmonious composition, a perfect example of the craftsmanship of past masters.

The building was constructed using log construction, characteristic of the folk architecture of the Beskid Mountains. The walls of the temple were made of horizontally arranged logs, and the roof was covered with shingles. This unique building technique was once widely used in the region, but over time it has become increasingly difficult to find preserved structures of this type.

The Church of St. Anna in Ustroń Nierodzimiu is listed in the register of monuments of the Silesian Voivodeship and is considered one of the most valuable examples of wooden sacred architecture in the entire country. This temple attracts many tourists and art lovers, becoming a flagship of the region.
